Mean Machine

Doodling again.

Everything comes back to 2000AD.

There was a time (ca., 1978-1986) it was pretty much the only comic I read! Every other comic seemed quite incidental and never quite hit the same mark for me...

When I was back home at Christmas I dug out some of my old drawings to show my son and most of them (not surprisingly) were 2000AD related, with Star Wars coming a close second.

I really owe it a great debt, because it introduced me to so many great artists and really helped kick-start my lifelong love of comics. It's influence on my own work is just enormous!

Anyway, I think the last time I drew this guy was back in 84...

1)Fun character to draw.

2)For the past couple of years I have been working digitally. Everything you see up here including the UXB comic was all done on the Cintiq in photoshop.

3)So no scanning.

Thanks for stopping by Lazarus...

Cheers.

Thank you, that's very interesting. I worked with water colors mostly but since i've been ill i've been working with Gimp. I find it rather difficult to adjust to the mouse but I love how electronic art has much more interesting contrasts.
