You want some...!?

Waited a long time for this:

That's for taking away my morning milk bitch!!!

And you...you muppet!!

My son even created a Neutron Star above his middle finger to celebrate the event(I won't go into the science of how one may create a Neutron Star ... let's just say it takes a great deal of concentration and the summoning of Zeus!)
Thankfully Mother Teresa was looking the other way.

Quote of the day.

My guess is that modern animated movies are the products not of anyone's individual vision, but rather a scattered accumulation of compromises made out of fear by members of large committees.

Awakenings

When I exited the bathroom wearing only a pair of boxers, a tee-shirt that had an EC comics logo and a pair of sandals that I had not yet bothered removing (It had been a sunny day). I had a moment where I thought I resembled how a more contemporary Jesus Christ would look.

I even felt more spiritually aware at that moment; like a load had been lessened.

A pair of sandals and some naked legs will do that for you (Note: you need to see well above the knee, so remove your cargo shorts or other type of clothing for proper effect)

Manga Farming

Tokyo-based artist Koshi Kawachi recently demonstrated his “Manga Farming” technique — which uses old manga as a growing medium for vegetables — by cultivating a crop of radish sprouts in an installation at the Matsuzakaya department store in Nagoya.

Test colour

This is a version of a younger Das from my comic UXB.

As this is is from a flashback sequence I wanted to pull back a little on spotting the blacks and keep it more in outline, allowing me to make it a little lighter in tone by working in the colour.

I had hoped that a friend was going to work up the colours, but sadly she got a little too busy to commit. It does however give me a chance to play around with photoshop and try to upgrade my skillset somewhat...

The Most Dangerous Game

The only time I had heard mention of this movie was when it was referenced in the plot of David Fincher's brilliant Zodiac(2007)which I have blabbed about a few times before on the blog.

"I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest because man is the most dangerous animal of all."
Quote from a decoded message sent by the Zodiac killer

This is one of the cryptograms that Zodiac included in his letters to the press which many believe is a direct reference to "The Most Dangerous Game," a short story (and 1932 film) about a mad Count who grows tired of hunting animals and begins to stalk human prey.

I was reminded of this movie by Igloo's latest post which you can view here (well worth the read) and saves me the trouble of reviewing it.

It stars Joel McCrea(Foreign Correspondent) Fay Wray and Robert Armstrong. It was made by a team including Ernest B. Schoedsack and Merian C. Cooper, the co-directors of King Kong (1933).
